Can hypothyroidism increase your chances of having anxiety/panic attacks?

July 22, 2010, 8:30 am
Question
I was just wondering if anybody experienced anxiety attacks while under hypothyroidism and if it was normal to have. I have been on the medicine for about 4 years and just now started experiencing them. Should I stop taking my medication and see a doctor or is it normal to have? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!
Answer
YES!!!!!! Man i prayed mine was the reason for my attacks, but no such luck...or atleast they havent told me anything about it yet. Medicine for hypothyroidism? NO dont just stop taking it, go talk to your doctor about everthing, you may need a different dosage that;s all.
