Question
This question is mainly for all the students and former students, but everyone is welcome to answer. As I have a tremendous amount of test anxiety, I'm interested in hearing about how others cope with it either before or during test day. Thanks.
Answer
The best thing to do is to believe in yourself, first. If you go in afraid of the test there is a good chance it will kick your butt. While taking the test, if you feel anxious just put the pencil down, close your eyes and take a deep breath in and exhale. You may need to do it a couple times to relax but it works. And remember to take each question on it's own. Read all directions, read each question, look at the options and re-read the question before you make your choice. Eliminate the obvious and focus on what the question is asking. The night before your test, try to eat a healthy dinner with veggies, some fruit. Get a good nights rest, a good 7-8 hours and no more than 9. The morning of the test be sure to eat a balanced breakfast. (That doesn't include sugary cereal--whole grains, protein, fruit, milk...) It seems like a lot, but it helps me. Just KNOW that you can do it, and you will do it. Permalink:
